White Horse Inn: Conversational Theology

Renewing Your Mind (Rom. 12)

Is Christian doctrine practical? The demand for practicality is sometimes legitimate. The bible does speak to the Christian Life. Often though the desire for practical sermons is a desire for a pastor to give biblical principles and steps to achieve some higher spirituality. Because of this pastors seeking to preach practical sermons often empty there messages of all doctrine. Masked behind this quest for the practical may be a desire to not want to hear from God. On this episode of White Horse Inn our hosts Michael Horton, Rod Rosenbladt, and Kim Riddlebarger show how Paul’s practical Christianity is grounded in doctrine. Like the Heidelberg catechism, in Romans we find Paul moving from guilt to grace to gratitude.
