A few years ago, contemporary Christian music artist, Leslie Phillips, left evangelical Christianity and became a secular singer/songwriter (now Sam Phillips). In her 1994 CD, Martinis and Bikinis, Phillips included a song entitled "I Need Love," in which she exclaims, "I need love, not some sentimental prison." That's an interesting line-a line which probably had something to do with her uneasiness in the evangelical subculture.
