Is it true that all the religions of the world are simply different paths to God, or is Jesus the only way? If Christianity is the only true religion, does this mean that other religions are completely false? What about those who have never heard about Jesus? Joining us to discuss some of these questions is Dr. John Stackhouse, Professor of Theology and Culture at Regent College in Vancouver, BC. (originally aired June 21, 2009).

Great program. Regardless of Romans 10:17 where by the way the KJV and the ESV differ:, one says God as Professor Stackhouse mentioned and the other one Christ:

Romans 10:17 KJV "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Romans 10:17 ESV "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."

the bottom line is this. What does the great commission teach? Mathhew 28:19 is clear about the triune God (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) that christians need to be baptized in his name, and unless we have heard and believed in Jesus Christ we can not be saved nor receive the holy spirit. The main work of the holy spirit is to testify about Christ John 15:26 . Are there exceptions? Sure, John the Baptist received the holy spirit while he was in the womb Luke 1:15. But this is not the rule but an exception. For normally faith comes from hearing and hearing from the word of Christ
Romans 10:17 or the word of a (triune) God as the KJV would have it. With that said without a belief in Christ (a mediator / messiah) or the promise of the coming of the messiah (in the old testament) scripture teaches there is no salvation. God can only be known in the trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Any other God is a false God. And it is impossible to know God if we haven't heard of Christ and his work of Redemption, all other Gods made by man's imagination or revealed in other religions there are false Gods, and are not trinitarian with a Saviour that is the mediator between God and Man, the God / Man Jesus Christ. So all those that never heard of Christ are worshipping an idol, a false God.

First Timothy 4:5 "For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

  • Religious Pluralism has existed since the days of Moses in Caanan. It is nothing new. Back then Gdo made it clear there was but One God and one way to Him. Not multiple examples of the same God in different manifestations.
Jesus Christ showed the same path. One God and One name to be saved by. No one comes to the Father (God) except through Christ.

I think don't this it is the only religion.imagine we were all born to muslim families would we christian or muslime? And no one decides which family they be born into.So if God is only in christianity we can't he make people born into other beliefs other than his own because he leader?these are things we must discuss and please stop refering to the bible as de only true word because muslims say the Quran was inspired by God as well.
