Grab your coffee and spend a few minutes with Mike Horton in New York City. This video, graciously provided by our friends at MockingbirdNYC was shot at their recent conference. Mike Horton was the plenary speaker and after his session, he sat down with Jady Koch to talk theology: specifically the difference between grace and karma, the difference between reason and rationalism, the use and misuse of the third use of the law–even Bono makes an appearance! Good stuff to get you started on your weekend.
Every political season, a firestorm of controversy erupts around the religious viewpoints of the major candidates and their policy prescriptions. But more and more Christians are increasingly uncomfortable with the agenda from both sides of the political aisle to claim God as a campaign advisor. How should Christians understand their responsibilities as citizens? What role does our faith play when we enter the voting booth? Does God even care?
The California primary election will be June 5th. Would you consider taking the time in your busy schedule to give the evening of June 1st over to thinking more deeply about the intersection of your faith and your earthly citizenship?

To know oneself is, above all, to know what one lacks. The first product of self-knowledge is humility.
To live outside the law, you must be honest.

Many of our faithful listeners remember the days when Mike, Rod, Kim, and Ken would gather in the studios of KKLA each Sunday night for the live broadcast of the White Horse Inn. Those evenings generated some of our most memorable content: the Robert Schuller interview, Dad Rod’s “scotch problem,” and countless others.
When Mike Horton moved to England for Ph.D. studies, the program went from being live to taped. Over the years we’ve experimented with various ways to reintroduce a live format, but none of them have achieved the same sound and feel as those early days. As part of our ongoing experiment on San Diego’s KPRZ 1210 AM, we are hosting the first live White Horse Inn show in more than a decade!
Mike Horton will be in studio this Friday, January 6th at 10:30 AM (PST) and we’ll be taking calls from listeners. You can listen online via KPRZ’s live stream (at kprz.com). Call us at 866-577-2473 to join the conversation. This is a great opportunity to be part of the White Horse Inn wherever you live.
Make plans today to listen and call in to the live broadcast of White Horse Inn this Friday, January 6th at 10:30 AM (PST). Listen at kprz.com and call 866-577-2473. We’re looking forward to talking to you!

Tomorrow night, we’re pleased to host Elyse Fitzpatrick and her daughter Jessica Thompson, coauthors of the book, Give Them Grace, for a special KPRZ Listeners’ Event at Westminster Seminary California.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Mike Horton, Elyse, and Jessica will begin their conversation on Gospel-driven parenting at 7:00 pm. Their conversation will be taped for a future broadcast of the White Horse Inn. You can join the conversation by posting your questions on Twitter to @whitehorseinn.

In February 2012 Drs. Horton and Rosenbladt will be joining a great line-up of speakers at this year’s LIBERATE Conference at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. To learn more about the conference they have posted this video:
A few weeks ago, we posted a brief interview with Mike Horton in which he talks about our upcoming conference at sea, “Conversations for a Modern Reformation.”
Now, you have a chance to hear the rest of the hosts talk about the cruise and their conference sessions:
Rod Rosenbladt on “What Drove Luther’s Hammer”
Kim Riddlebarger on “A Reformation Pilgrimage”
Ken Jones on “Reforming a Church”
It’s not too late to join Mike, Rod, Kim, and Ken to hear these great lectures, participate in live White Horse Inn recordings, and join other Reformation-minded people from around the world in writing 95 Theses for a Modern Reformation.
We set sail on Monday, January 30th and return on Saturday, February 4th. If you can get to Miami early, you could be part of the audience for our second installment of the For and Against Calvinism Conversation with Roger Olson on Saturday, January 28th. Mike Horton will be preaching at Ken Jones’ church, Glendale Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, January 29th. All the hosts will participate in a pre-cruise live White Horse Inn taping on Sunday night, January 29th.
We have a lot of fun and informative sessions planned for our time together. I hope you can join us! Register here.
