Really good thoughts here. I am in a plant PCA church going through the process of training future elders ad leaders and this issue is one we are facing. We have an eclectic group of believers, many of whom have never really thought about theology, much less its impact on our worship and sanctification. There is a significant number of people who are in the “I just want to worship” and “Can’t we be comfortable not all believing the same things?” camps.
I love learning about theology and historical Christianity and really struggle to remain gracious to those who want to be set free to lead however they see fit as they were in their previous congregations instead of understanding why we do hat we do and select the material we do for them to use.
