Systematic theology is very important because it helps give us a balanced approach when thinking about tough doctrines. Sure we don’t like talking about hell, but it is a necessary subject because of who God is. Mike Horton causes us to think about these things in the next Christianity.com video interview.
Tomorrow we will see a video where Mike discusses more about the importance of Christians studying theology.

I’ve not seen any of these yet but I’d like to watch them all.
How do I navigate to the video series from the Christianity.com site?

It was astonishing to hear Michael Horton point out that, had Christ come in judgement at His first coming, then we would all be rightly and justly spending eternity in hell. It really brought home to me that I am so blessed by God that He is patient, not wanting any to be lost, but all to come to Him – so He delays, and so I have been saved by His grace, through faith in Christ alone. It makes the need to tell this Gospel to others so much more urgent. God alone knows when He will return to judge us all. That will be a very different day altogether. All He wants is for us to trust Christ, that He has done all that is necessary for our salvation. Nothing more is needed, just to trust Him, trust who He is, trust His promises, and so live our lives on that basis (as confirmation that what we say we believe we do indeed believe). Can I thank Michael Horton for this insight. It’s strange how seeing a fundamental truth from a different angle can make such a difference to how we live.
May God bless you all with a real passion for His glory.
Kindest Regards,
Caroline
