The Embassy of Grace
It’s common today to hear in various sectors of the church today that truly missional Christians are those who obey the call to participate in the redemption and reconciliation of the world. Some even say that the church is not to be the bearer of the message, but should itself be the message. Are these views consistent with Scripture? Is redemption or reconciliation something to be achieved, or rather a completed event? On this program the hosts discuss these views as they interact with Paul’s message in 2nd Corinthians chapter 5 about being ambassadors for Christ.

I would argue that the horizontal dimension (family, work, community) provides the most important everyday arena for sharing the Gospel because this is where we come into direct and on-going contact with the world. Our conduct in these arenas is obviously not the Gospel, but neither is it beside the point.

We are a gospel centered missional organization who place our hope solely in the finished work of Jesus to “fix the world”. What is painful in listening to your flat out brilliant and articulate summary of the gospel and the role of the ambassador and which is to bring the message of reconciliation is the glancing blow which you bring to the fruit of the gospel.
(Additionally the continued “build a monster then tear him down” strategy is not helpful as I try to listen to you. I continually find myself wanting you to deal with what they are trying to do rather than their errors.)
Why don’t you seemingly ‘message only’ guys elaborate on what you mean by the fruit of the gospel especially to the lost world? What does it look like for you? What are the goods works that you have been created in Christ Jesus for? I’ll spot you “preaching the gospel”. Anything else? And if so, for what reason or profit would you do these works?
Guess what I’m getting at is that I would love to hear a theology of Ephesians 2:10 or an exposition of Luke 10: 1-12 It sure seems we are created for good works and that Jesus sent his disciples to do good works along with the gospel proclamation? Why?
Is the gospel proclaimed all we are to offer to a dying world? Or were we supposed to do more? Is love in word only or in deed also? And if it is in deed, then what deeds? and for what purpose? These are the questions I’d like to hear your panel work through.

I have owned the name The Embassy of Grace and registered with the IRS since 1998. I was surprised to see that another Reformation ministry has the same name which to me is GREAT!
I took The Embassy of Grace name from a sermon I preached on the Cave of Adullan, and I called, and compared that cave with an Embassy then I mentioned it that it was The Embassy of Grace where people find: “refuge, rest, regrouping, restoration and reassignment.” – Anyway, I am just happy that you bear the same ministerial name!

Actually, Milton, our name is White Horse Inn. Embassy of Grace was the title of an episode of our radio program that we produced in August 2011.
