IS it just me or has the popular impression of Jesus gotten a shorter beard over the last few years? (he’s still tragically white though)

@Nik
I think you’re right. Soon he’ll have a 5 o’clock shadow, a soul patch, and a graphic tee (maybe he’ll even sport some trendy specs).

I am sickened by two “churches” we pass every day that have never considered using Scripture on their billboards. When you have such ridiculous sayings and pictures you deserve to receive the comments as is above.

I thought he had hip-looking square glasses, mustache & goatee, and an earring.

My wife always warns me not to look when we drive past such signs. Thanks for adding this feature! This is one of my favorite pet peeves! The dignity of the church is so undermined by such fare. It doesn’t draw anyone but other church members (in most cases).

Ah, I love a good (read bad) church sign.

These comments are hardly gentle, accepting and loving. I think they could be described as “TRagic Letters”

I have recently published an apologetics book concerning this subject. “Signs of the Times: The False Messages, Half-Truths, and Poor Theology of Church Marquees” can be found at Amazon.com and the Barnes and Noble website. I take numerous church signs and critique them with Scripture to show how churches are deceiving the public.

Saw one in Silver Spring, MD that said “Be fishers of men – we catch them, God cleans them”…. Ewwwww. Wondered if the person who put that one out had ever cleaned a fish.
