  ABOUT US

Launched in 1990, The White Horse Inn (named after the pub in Cambridge, England, where the Reformation came to the English-speaking world), is a nationally syndicated radio broadcast featuring regular round-table discussions on faith, culture and apologetics. Hosted by Michael Horton, Ken Jones, Kim Riddlebarger, and Rod Rosenbladt, the White Horse Inn aims each week to equip Christians to "know what they believe and why they believe it."

Though the hosts have different denominational and ethnic backgrounds, the White Horse Inn unites itself on the principle slogans of the Protestant Reformation, such as the sufficiency of Scripture, salvation by grace alone through faith alone by Christ alone, and the importance of a God-centered, rather than human-centered outlook. By renewed attention to these classic and central themes on a weekly basis, it is the aim of the White Horse Inn to bring health and vigor to a church that appears to have in some ways lost its sense of missions.

The broadcast regularly features interviews with leading thinkers, "on the street interviews" that help show popular convictions among either Christians on non-Christian groups, creative music segments and frequent interaction with quotes from movies or music lyrics as a way to analyze modern American culture. The White Horse Inn is available on nearly 50 stations throughout the U.S. and Canada. On the web, the program is accessible throughout the week via streaming, instant download and audio podcast.

Ken Jones

A native of Los Angeles, California, Rev. Jones is a graduate of Pepperdine University and a co-host of The White Horse Inn. Rev. Jones was licensed to preach in 1977 for a Baptist church in Compton, California, and was ordained in 1983. That year, he planted a church where he served until 1989, when he was called to the pastorate of Greater Union Baptist Church in Compton (gubc.tripod.com). He has seen how little mere emotionalism and political posturing have contributed to genuine faith in the inner city, just as surely as suburban religion often fails to pass the muster.

In addition to his ministry at Greater Union Baptist Church, Rev. Jones serves as Sunday School Director and Chairman of Credentials Commission for the Long Beach Harbor Association of the California Southern Baptist Convention. He has taught seminary extension courses on the Book of Galatians and Church History. He has also served as Dean of Compton-Lynwood Academy for Christians United for Reformation (CURE). Rev. Jones has contributed articles for Modern Reformation and publishes a monthly newsletter called the "Lyceum."

Rod Rosenbladt

The Rev. Dr. Rod Rosenbladt is professor of theology at Concordia University in Irvine, California (www.cui.edu) and an ordained minister in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. A native of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Rosenbladt was educated at Pacific Lutheran University (B. S.), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.A.), Capitol Theological Seminary (M.Div.), and The University of Strasbourg (Ph.D.).

Dr. Rosenbladt is a co-host of The White Horse Inn and has contributed to several books including Christianity for the Tough Minded, The Agony of Deceit, and Christ the Lord. He is known especially for his wit, Lutheresque sense of humor, and penetrating analysis of the contemporary church in the light of classical Reformation Christianity.
